I joined XAIS-PTS in 2019 as an Infrastructure Technician, and since then I’ve had the opportunity to work across a range of projects that have strengthened my technical and operational experience. In 2021, I was seconded to the Highways Department at Nottingham City Council, and I currently provide asset management support to the Head of Highway and Maintenance.
As part of my secondment, I am often the first point of contact between XAIS-PTS and the NCC Highways Department, ensuring the authority’s needs and projects are delivered smoothly and on time. I have worked on various projects with NCC over the last few years, drainage, structures, public rights of way, and grass verge trials are just a few to mention.
This year, I have been supporting NCC more closely with their Streets for People schemes, the launch and ongoing management of their interactive highways planned maintenance mapping tool available through the Transport Nottingham website, and work on the authority's resilient network. The interactive highways planned maintenance map allows residents and members of the public to access information on over 200 schemes across the city, and I ensure it is regularly updated so the public remain informed about past, live, and future highway and pavement improvement works.
Working at XAIS-PTS has given me the chance to grow within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation. I value the variety of my work, the problem-solving involved in infrastructure projects, and the collaborative relationships I’ve developed across both the company and the local authority.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue developing my expertise, take on new challenges, and contribute to the ongoing success of XAIS-PTS and the services we deliver to Nottingham and other authorities.
