Role Purpose
Due to increased workload due to company-wide growth, XAIS-PTS is seeking Survey Operators to work across the UK. The positions are full-time and permanent.
We are seeking enthusiastic, hard-working people to work on sites across the UK for a rapidly expanding Civil Engineering company.
The main duties of our Survey Operatives are day-to-day testing and surveying operations on highways across the UK. On-the-job training will be provided. The SCRIM is a S*ideway-force Coefficient Routine Investigation M*achine that operates globally, collecting data and measuring the skid resistance of road networks. This role will involve route planning. Once maps in the Survey packs are received, which highlight specific roads to survey, it will be your task to collect the data in a safe manner, ensuring good coverage for each km. The role will require basic geographical knowledge, computer skills and good organisation.
Working away from home regularly will be an integral part of the position. The starting salary depends on the experience detailed below that the candidate holds. A night-time allowance, overtime, and working away from home expenses are also paid.
Successful candidates for this role must pass an intensive safety-critical medical.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all work and tasks carried out are done as per company guidelines to assist in the continual development and improvement of PTS, its ISO 9001 management systems and to comply with all international standards, Health and Safety, applicable laws, regulations, protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure that all plant and equipment is operational before leaving the depot
- Ensure vehicle checks have been done before leaving the depot and all vehicles are kept clean and tidy
- Ensure all paperwork and data is fully completed and handed over to the appropriate person
- Have good skills in Excel and Word
- Communicate any deviations from original job specifics to the relevant people
- Ensure any Company issued equipment is kept safe and contained within relevant storage/protection case
- Work will include working away from home and nights
Qualifications/Skills
- Must be keen to work away from home on a regular basis - Essential
- Must be a team player - Essential
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills - Essential
- Full UK driving licence - Essential
- Hold current CSCS card - Preferred - support will be given to obtain CSCS card
- Must be able to work under own initiative - Preferred
- Good communication skills - Preferred
- Word and Excel knowledge - Essential
